CROINTERVENT 2012 – The 5th Meeting of Interventional Cardiology and Fellow Course

Dear friends and colleagues,

Further to our successful meeting, CROINTERVENT 2011, it is our pleasure to invite you again to the unique Dubrovnik for a special meeting of the Interventional Working Group of the Croatian Cardiac Society. It will take place on April 25-28, 2012, as a part of the 61st ESCVS Congress (European Society for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery). We believe that such an interactive and interdisciplinary convention will provide opportunity to exchange opinions on treatment modalities for our mutual patients, and to look at the problems of our profession from another angle. Following the last year's success we will again organize a fellow course under the auspices of EAPC I and EBAC. Within this course a workshop on radial access will be held, headed by a group from the University of Illinois, Chicago. A day will be dedicated to the TAVI procedure, and the main session will encompass all topics of importance to interventional cardiologists. We also plan interesting sessions with case reports on complex procedures and complications. As always, top interventional cardiologists have confirmed their participation. We expect a large number of participants from abroad, so there will be opportunities for exchanging experiences and discussions during the lectures, but also in informal conversations.

A workshop on heart failure will also take place as this is interrelated with our field, wherein colleagues from the Texas Heart Institute in Houston will share with us the news in mechanical circulatory support and heart transplantation. Interventional cardiologists interested in vascular interventions will have the opportunity to attend excellent presentations from endovascular medicine.
